My name is Parastou Saberi. I’m a Toronto-based editor, researcher and published academic author with many years of university training and teaching in social sciences and arts. Check out my latest book with the University of Minnesota Press.

I hold a PhD from York University and an Editing Certificate from Simon Fraser University; and have a multidisciplinary academic background in urban and political geography, sociology and architecture. I am a member of the editorial collective of Upping the Anti: A Journal of Theory and Action, and a member of Editors Canada. 

I specialize in non-fiction editing and academic editing particularly in social sciences, humanities and arts. I combine my editing, writing, academic and pedagogical skills to help you bring clarity, focus, structure, voice and energy to your writing.

I am experienced in working with EAL (English as additional language) writers and attending to their needs. My editing approach is based on paying meticulous attention to audience, correctness, clarity and accessibility, and working closely with authors to preserve and empower their voice.
